Ballyduff National School has a very active Green Schools Committee who work very hard to help keep our school green. Every week they ensure children use our recycling bins correctly and monitor energy usage in our school.
Ballyduff National School are also participating in this years School of Excellence programme run in conjunction with Waterford Institute of Technology. As part of this programme of Excellence we are looking at our school habitat. We are currently at the planning stages but have come up with some nice ideas as to how we can rejuvenate our school gardens. We are planning to look at planting, gardening, our bug hotel and meadows for pollination. Check back again soon to see our progress. Here are some of the before pictures!
SADLY…….
All our intentions to overhaul our school garden and create our school meadow never happened. We could not continue with our involvement in the School of Excellence programme however, I think the following work shows how much our students learned about gardening and bugs. Check out the amazing projects created by the classes remotely.
