Examining Local Engineering – Bridge Building

The Thomas Frances Meagher Bridge is located very close to our school. On a clear day you can even catch a glimpse of it from Ballyduff Hill.
Also, a new bridge has been built on the new main road from Waterford to Wexford; The Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Bridge. A parent of our 6th class children was an Engineer involved in the design and construction of the bridge.
Hence, a bridge building challenge ensued!!
Our 6th class children undertook a bridge building challenge. 6th class decided to delve into gaining an understanding of bridge design and construction. Their designs and creations are very impressive.
