January 2015

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Parent/Teacher Meetings:

Parent/Teacher meetings take place on Monday and Tuesday next week for all pupils. The date and time of meetings will be sent out this week. We do our utmost to facilitate parents and guardians by timetabling meetings for your children close together. If you cannot attend at the given time, please contact the teacher to make an alternative appointment.

William Whyte, photographer, will visit the school on Friday the 30th of January. Parents of Junior Infants will be given the opportunity to have a photo taken of your child in the first year at school. Forms will be sent out in the next week. Any other parents who wish to have photos taken of individual children or siblings may do so also.

Catholic Schools Week/Grandparents Day

Pupils will be brought to mass on Wednesday the 28th of January for Catholic Schools Week. We will also celebrate Grandparents Day on that day. Grandparents of pupils are invited to the mass, to tour the school after mass and to join us for refreshments in the school hall afterwards. Invitations will be forthcoming from the pupils. We hope to see many grandparents on the day.

Gymnastics/Dance Classes

Dance lessons are taking place for all classes for four weeks this month. Gymnastic classes will take place in February and March. The parents association organizes fund raising each year to fund these classes. They hope to hold a cake sale and a book fair later this term to raise money. We look forward to your support.

Standardised Tests

Testing will take place in the last week of May. We ask parents to ensure that children are in school during the week May 25th– 29th.
